As a result of the measles outbreak centred on the Swansea area a vaccination programme is being rolled out across Gwent in Comprehensive Schools and Special Schools over the coming weeks.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have reviewed the letter that I sent to you on the 25th April. I am aware that elements of the letter could have (and indeed have) been misinterpreted and would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight. I apologise for any perceived misleading statements and/or inaccuracies.

The purpose of the letter was to inform you of our planned celebrated return to the Cwmcarn School site.

The ‘significant investment’ in the school refers to the significant amount of money that has been allocated by the Council to remove the asbestos and the grant is purely for the removal of the asbestos and any necessary resulting remediation - not for any improvement works. This is clarified in the fourth paragraph when I state:
